In 1909, William Letchworth Hurst agreed to let the railroad lay track connecting Fort Worth and Dallas on his land with the condition that a stop be established there and the town be given his name. This quaint bedroom community is only 9.97 square miles with a population just over 40,055 as of the 2021 census. Conveniently located in northeast Tarrant County, Hurst is known for being home to Bell Helicopter, the upscale North East Mall, Chisholm Park and Tarrant County College. Most of Hurst lies within the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District and with the town’s sizel, schools are easily accessed by its residents. The cities of Hurst, Euless, and Bedford make up the area known as the “Mid-Cities” that locals refer to as “H-E-B”.
